1. MiCA Deadline: 1st July 2026

MiCA becomes fully enforceable in 29 days.
From 1 July, providing crypto-asset services to EU customers without a licence will be illegal.

2. We Are Looking for Crypto Accountants Across the EU

DAC8 is live. It is the EU directive that brings crypto into the same automatic tax-reporting framework as traditional finance. From 1 January 2026, crypto platforms collect data on every user transaction and report it to national tax authorities.
In practice, this means anyone with crypto activity needs proper support to declare their crypto revenue correctly.
So, at COMETS, we are building a network of crypto accountants across EU member states to support our community.

3. COMETS Is Coming to a City Near You

The closest is Budapest on 27th June, then we are taking the builders meetup across Europe through the rest of 2026. Warsaw on 8th September, Zurich on 27th September, then back to Bucharest on 30th October as part of AI Expo Europe, and then Tallinn on 4th November.
