1. Crypto, explained for accountants

On 29th October at 18:00 we’ll be hosting an online webinar on crypto taxes, built for accounting firms, tax consultants and lawyers: COMETS Digital Assets: Taxe Crypto & Reglementari Fiscale.

We’ll cover the basics (wallets, exchanges, stablecoins), how crypto gains are taxed and declared, which records to ask clients for and how net gain is calculated under ANAF rules, then open the floor to a Q&A on your own client cases.

2. Taxes Support is getting its biggest update yet

Mark your calendars: step by step filing guides for the Single Tax Return (Declaratia Unica) are coming soon to Taxes Support!

We’ve built them for everyone who wants to file their declaration on their own. Each model is a step by step report that walks you through the form: which sections to fill in, what goes in each field and where every figure from your crypto gains, stock sales or foreign dividends belongs. ​3. Sibiu and Sofia, in pictures

September ended with two amazing COMETS events in two different cities.

On 25th September, we joined Avalanche Team1 and BuildRooms at Sofia Tech Park for Team1 Connect, an official ETHSofia side event during Blockchain Week Bulgaria. Four days later, on 29th September, Mercure Sibiu Arsenal hosted COMETS Crypto Currencies, where traders, investors, accountants and lawyers came together around crypto taxation, legislation and how to spot investment schemes early.

​Silviu Sotelecan has spent 15+ years turning complex fintech, crypto and healthcare products into experiences people trust. As the first design hire at Sweat Economy, he led product design for Sweat Wallet, a neobank style app that brought Web2 users into Web3 and reached 18 million users.

​Razvan Ambrozie is the CEO of Fiscal Mind, an AI platform built to handle the full complexity of Romanian taxation. He also founded Ambrozie Tax, where he works as a fiscal strategist, and serves as Senior Tax Counsel at Ambrozie Legal & Strategic Counsel. He joined our panels in Sibiu on 29th September.

1 Idea From Others

Gerald Podobnik, co-head of Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Bank, on the bank’s new crypto custody service:

“Our aim is to offer clients a secure and regulated gateway to this evolving market.”

On 16th October he told Reuters the service goes live in Germany within weeks, starting with bitcoin, ether and stablecoins including USDC, EURC and EURAU, with Asian financial centres to follow in 2027. Tokenized deposits and digital bonds are next on the bank’s roadmap.

When Europe’s largest bank holds the keys, safekeeping becomes the starting line. The space for builders moves to everything that runs on top: payments, tokenized assets and the tools that connect regulated money to onchain products.
