On 29th September, COMETS brings traders, investors, founders, accountants and lawyers together in Sibiu for an evening on crypto taxation, regulation and fraud prevention in Romania.

2. COMETS x Avalanche are heading to ETHSofia

2 Builders like you

​Andrei Duma leads DeFi at LI.FI, the cross-chain transaction router that wallets like MetaMask and Phantom build on to move assets across ecosystems. A Romanian builder from the early days of the local startup scene, he founded one of the region's first crowdfunding platforms and wrote the first Romanian book on the topic before going deep on multi-chain infrastructure.

​Anna Petrenko is CBDO at Everstake, a leading institutional staking provider, where she runs global business development and strategic partnerships from Vienna. She grew through five years of R&D and go-to-market roles there, and she brings an academic backbone to it: a PhD in economics and years heading the Management in IT department at Kharkiv's STEP University.

1 Idea From Others

​Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, named what keeps going wrong with crypto social as he moves back to it this year.

"If we want a better society, we need better mass communication tools."

As he puts it, most crypto social apps pay for attention instead of good writing. The big accounts won, quality slipped, and the tokens faded inside a year. His starting point is competition: put the social graph in a shared layer, let anyone build a client on top, and the conversation lives across apps rather than inside one company.

It's a tension every builder meets at a smaller scale. Attention you pay for leaves when the money does, and the tools that earn it are the ones that stay.
